Vegetable capsules
Why capsules? Not all nutrients are suitable for consumption in liquid form. Some substances are unstable in oil or water and can only be stored properly in capsule form. Capsules are also often used to mask the bitter taste of certain supplements, such as magnesium.
After ingestion, the capsule disintegrates, allowing vitamins and minerals to be absorbed by the body. Another advantage is that the contents remain well protected against moisture, oxygen and other external influences. For many people, capsules are also easier to take than tablets. For small children, vitamin drops are usually more convenient.
Plant-based vs. non-plant-based
Capsules can be plant-based or non-plant-based. Non-plant-based capsules are often made from gelatin, a protein of animal origin. Plant-based capsules, on the other hand, are made from cellulose from plants. Please note: natural does not automatically mean plant-based. Animal products are also natural, but that does not make them vegan or vegetarian.

How big are the capsules?
Most capsules are less than 2 cm long. Do you have trouble swallowing? Cut the capsule open and mix the contents into a smoothie or bowl of yoghurt.
