Delicious as a snack or healthy breakfast, perhaps with some muesli added. This vegan smoothie recipe is gently sweetened by banana and agave syrup, with a little kick from the addition of turmeric and pepper. And of course, it contains lots of vitamins and minerals from the spinach and fruit.
What do you need for this recipe?
- 100 grams of organic kale or organic spinach
- 1 organic banana
- 1 organic apple
- 2 teaspoons chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon agave syrup or maple syrup or date syrup
- A pinch of pepper
- Half a teaspoon of turmeric
- 4 tablespoons vegan yoghurt (I really like Alpro's soy yoghurt and quark, both in natural and vanilla flavour)
- 50 ml cold water
How do you make this vegan smoothie?
- Wash the kale or spinach thoroughly and drain.
- Cut the banana and apple into pieces.
- Put all the ingredients in the blender together with the ice cubes. The ice cubes will ensure that your vegan smoothie is nice and cold.
- Let the blender do its work until all the ingredients have turned into a smooth, even drink.
