This blog was written by Nouska from Leven met Spikkels (Living with Speckles), in collaboration with VitaminFit. In this blog, Nouska tells her own story about the power of conscious resilience. Read on to find out more!
Resilience is a beautiful word. In the past, resilience made me think of snotty noses and autumn. Now I see resilience as something that has brought me a lot, but also as a guide. Resilience also has to do with this. Can you handle a little bit, or do you get knocked over easily?
Emotionally, spiritually, physically, cognitively; resistance and resilience are important. That you are not easily defeated by a comment. That you are not easily knocked off course by busier times.
That you keep doing your own thing, even if someone voices their opinion about it. That you stand up for yourself. That you can have a runny nose and not immediately feel defeated. Or maybe you do, but you also know: this will be good for something and it will pass.
Because by taking good care of yourself and keeping your head and heart in order, you will not suddenly never get sick again, never be tired again or never be an emotional wreck again. Darkness belongs to light. Illness belongs to health. Being strong belongs to vulnerability. Being knocked off balance every now and then provides a pause, rest, recovery, introspection and insight.
By living healthily and supporting your body with the right supplements, you are at least doing what is necessary to avoid completely breaking down when it is not necessary. And so it is good to know what works for your body and what it needs. You can certainly ask Vitaminfit for advice on this. An appointment with a mesologist or naturopath can also be enlightening.
At home, we take a little more vitamin C when the R is in the month. I also think it's nice to experience how logical that is. In nature, you find plenty of vitamin C in berries and other fruits that ripen in those months. Ready to nourish your body to get through the winter.
We also use Echinacea from time to time to support our immune system. It comes in a convenient drop form and can be easily combined with other supplements we use, such as magnesium. So, it's a slightly modified but still enjoyable vitamin routine.
