Hormones more in balance with evening primrose oil

Hormones are an incredibly fascinating phenomenon, if you ask me. I am by no means an expert in this field. I am a layman. At most, I am an expert by experience. Like so many other women. Every month, we endure all those fluctuations in our hormone balance. Some women suffer greatly from this, others hardly at all, with all kinds of variations in between.

Many people are also unaware that certain symptoms, such as irritability, mood swings, fatigue, memory problems, binge eating, digestive problems and headaches (or migraines) can be the result of a hormonal imbalance. We have become so accustomed to these symptoms or attribute them to other causes or (character) traits. ‘They're just part of life.’ .

And to a certain extent, that is of course true, and it can also be very comforting to accept certain things as they are. But a little relief can also be very nice! It will never be okay again... A week before my period, I can look at a problem and think: this will never be okay. This is the end. Now everything is falling apart. It's impossible. A few days later, I look at the same problem and think, ‘Well, of course it will be okay. I'll just do this and that and that.’ Or sometimes I don't even see it as a problem anymore! Just a situation or temporary inconvenience.

Because I recognise it now, I find it fascinating and, in those moments of doom and gloom, I can rise above the situation, open my cycle app and see, ‘Oh yes, I'm due to have my period in a week. So let's just leave it for now. I'll deal with it next week, if it's still a problem then.’ Don't be silly. Many women will recognise this.

Many other people with a menstrual cycle will have many more stories to tell. About extreme fatigue, crying spells, binge eating, migraines, anger attacks, unbearable pain. Some women are simply regularly incapacitated by the whole hormone thing. It's very drastic and complicated, especially in a society where women are mainly expected to ‘stop being silly’, not to talk about hormones and their cycle, and to attribute complaints to other causes. Simply because we don't learn enough about it.

If you want to understand your hormone balance, you have to educate yourself. But where do you start if you don't even know that it's your hormones that are throwing you off balance? And that in many cases, something can be done about it? As I already wrote, I am not a hormone expert. So if you are unsure whether your symptoms are related to a hormonal imbalance or if you feel that you could benefit from improving your hormone balance, consult your general practitioner so that they can help you find the right hormone expert.

Evening primrose oil

If you are looking for a natural remedy that can have a positive effect on your hormone balance and mood and also helps with menstrual complaints, such as pain and an irregular cycle, consider Evening Primrose Oil. Evening primrose oil is rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). This is an unsaturated omega 6 fatty acid. Vitaminfit's evening primrose oil contains 72% linoleic acid and 10% GLA gamma linolenic acid. The cold-pressed evening primrose oil can also be used to support the heart and blood vessels due to the presence of omega 6. Finally, evening primrose oil has a positive effect on healthy skin and can be used for menopausal symptoms.

Vitaminfit Evening Primrose Oil is 100% plant-based and comes in drop form. The daily dose for adults is 20 drops. For children aged 12 and over, the daily dose is 10 drops. A good balance between omega-6 and omega-3 is important. If you eat a plant-based diet, it is advisable to supplement with omega-3. Vitaminfit's Omega 3 drops contain both ALA and EPA.
